Routine Eye Exams

-Yearly eye exams are the best way to ensure healthy vision now and throughout your lifetime. Children should have a thorough eye exam before the age of five. In addition to determining your eyeglass prescription, our comprehensive eye exam includes tests for glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration and the ocular effects of systemic diseases such as diabetes and hypertension. Routine exams can now include Optomap retinal exams. A contact lens exam includes additional contact lens related tests that are necessary to ensure that your prescription is accurate and the contacts are fitting your corneas properly.

Our friendly and knowledgeable staff will help you select eyewear to match your visual needs and lifestyle. Choose from a large assortment of frames to fit every budget, including designer brand prescription and sunglass frames. We use the most advanced high quality lenses available. We are able to fabricate glasses on premises using state of the art patternless eding equipment and also fill outside prescriptions from other doctors.

Our team will work with you to determine the best possible contact lens fit. New contact lens wearers undergo formal contact lens instruction relating to insertion and removal of lenses and proper care with our staff, as well as a series of follow-up visits with Dr. DiGeso to ensure a healthy, successful fit.

Laser Vision Correction Consultation

LASIK is an exciting vision correction option. It is not a decision that should be made based on advertising or price alone. During refractive surgery, a laser is used to reshape the cornea to eliminate or reduce a patient's prescription. The FDA has approved LASIK and PRK, the two most common types of refractive surgery, as safe and effective procedures. However, not everyone is a good candidate for these procedures and should undergo a thorough screening process if they are considering refractive surgery. Basic requirements include a stable prescription for 2 years, healthy corneas, no active eye disease, and one must be at least 18 years of age. Dr. DiGeso will determine whether you are a good candidate and discuss with you what kind of outcome you can expect. Our office is affiliated with several experienced corneal surgeons and laser centers in NJ. Dr. DiGeso provides the pre and post-operative care for our patients at our office.

Low Vision Exams

-Anyone with noncorrectable reduced vision is visually impaired. A low vision examination includes tests to determine the patient's current vision status followed by the development of a treatment plan. Treatment plans include prescription of glasses, specialized optical systems, magnifiers and/or video magnification. Dr. DiGeso is also a provider for the NJ Commision for the Blind and Visually Impaired.

Treatment of Eye Disease

Dr. DiGeso is certified to treat and manage eye diseases, such as glaucoma, conjunctivitis, blepharitis, dry eye, ocular hypertension and more. Topical (eye drops) and/or oral medications are prescribed for these conditions. Dr. DiGeso also co-manages pre and post-op care for cataract surgery patients.
