LASIK is an exciting vision correction option. It is not a decision that should be made based on advertising or price alone. During refractive surgery, a laser is used to reshape the cornea to eliminate or reduce a patient's prescription. The FDA has approved LASIK and PRK, the two most common types of refractive surgery, as safe and effective procedures. However, not everyone is a good candidate for these procedures and should undergo a thorough screening process if they are considering refractive surgery. Basic requirements include a stable prescription for 2 years, healthy corneas, no active eye disease, and one must be at least 18 years of age. Dr. DiGeso will determine whether you are a good candidate and discuss with you what kind of outcome you can expect. Our office is affiliated with several experienced corneal surgeons and laser centers in NJ. Dr. DiGeso provides the pre and post-operative care for our patients at our office.
